Profile
I am Denis Fabián López Araya and I live in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, in the Tamarindo area. I have ten years of experience in customer service in English and Spanish: technical support, luxury hospitality, Amazon and, from 2021 to 2026, the front desk of a real estate law firm. In all of them the base is the same: keep the operation organized and follow every case from start to finish.
Now I work in web development. I build websites, and with Claude I add whatever else a project needs. I run two projects of my own, WEBSDL and Expat Services CR, and I designed and maintain this page myself.
WEBSDL
Ongoing project
My main project
I built it so a business can have a good website without spending a lot of money. So far I have built and I maintain six client sites, and I keep templates by industry ready to adapt: gym, clinic, café, event venue, lodging and optical shop. The goal is that the owner gets a site ready to use, and can change text and photos later without breaking anything.
How I work
Every page starts by understanding the business and who it wants to sell to. The design, the text and everything else are based on that.
Strategy and target customerFirst we define who the page is for. Without that, the rest does not matter.
Custom designNo generic templates. The structure is built around what the business needs to show.
Local SEOSo it shows up when someone searches for that service in the area: titles, copy and Google listing.
Built for mobileMost people visit from their phone. It loads fast and looks good on the phone first.
Content and copyI write the text and organize the photos so it is clear in seconds what the business offers.
Maintenance and backupsUpdates, backups and small fixes. It keeps working after delivery.
I use artificial intelligence tools, such as Claude, for design and development. First I research the business, the target customer and the keywords; then I build the site and keep it up to date.
Expat Services CR
In development
Another project
I founded it with Valeska Ruiz, who has a degree in business administration. Many foreigners who move to Costa Rica end up not knowing where or how to handle the paperwork; we are building a place where they get clear guidance in their own language. Still in development: for now I am setting up the site and organizing the content.
The idea came from my job. For five years I was at GM Attorneys at Law, a real estate law firm in Tamarindo, as the first point of contact for international clients: case tracking, documentation, billing and company records. There I saw directly how confused people are when they move to the country, and how much it helps to have someone explain the process in their language.
Experience
2021 — 2026Front desk and administrative support
GM Attorneys at Law · Tamarindo
First point of contact for international clients at a real estate law firm. Tracking active cases, documentation, billing and reviewing company records in the internal system.
What I gained: reliable case tracking and follow-up, and direct contact with international clients.
2020Customer service
Amazon
Three departments at once: Retail, Prime Video and Account Change. High volume of international customers, orders, returns and unauthorized charges.
What I gained: speed, volume, and learning a new system in days, not months.
2019 — 2020Concierge, Whatever/Whenever
W Costa Rica, Marriott
Concierge team at a luxury hotel. Reservations, activities and requests from international guests by phone, chat and email, all managed in the hotel's internal system.
What I gained: coordinating people and suppliers under time pressure, with a service standard that stays high.
2016 — 2018Technical support
AT&T U-Verse
Calls from U.S. customers with internet, TV and phone problems. I found the cause, guided them step by step, and did not close the case until the service worked again.
What I gained: my technical base, and the habit of explaining technical things to non-technical people without making them feel bad.
